Bacteria in Soil: Promising Bioremediation Agents in Arid and Semi-Arid Environments for Cereal Growth Enhancement

نویسندگان

چکیده

In arid regions, starchy agricultural products such as wheat and rice provide essential carbohydrates, minerals, fibers vitamins. However, drought, desiccation, high salinity, potentially toxic metals hydrocarbon accumulation are among the most notable stresses affecting soil quality cereal production in environments. Certain bacteria, referred to Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), colonize plant root environment, providing beneficial advantages for both plants. Beyond their ability improve growth under non-stressed conditions, PGPR can establish symbiotic non-symbiotic interactions with plants growing stress participating bioremediation, alleviation restoration. Moreover, fix nitrogen, solubilize insoluble forms of nutrients produce other metabolites siderophores, phytohormones, antibiotics hydrolytic enzymes makes them ecofriendly alternatives excessive use unsuitable cost-effective chemicals agriculture. The remarkable belong genera Arthrobacter, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, Bacillus, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, etc. Therefore, environments be ensured using PGPR. Herein, potential role bacteria promoting normal derelict soils is reviewed highlighted.

Soil Moisture Measurements by Synthetic Aperture Radar and Scatterometers in the Arid and Semi-arid Environment

Water is a scarce commodity in desert regions; yet, most remote sensing experiments of soil moisture have been conducted in temperate areas. The ability to detect and reliably assess soil moisture in the arid environment has important implications both at the micro scale such as the individual farm and at the macro scale for climate modeling. A series of experiments utilizing an airborne scatte...

The Landscape as a Unit for Rangeland Inventory in Arid and Semi-arid Regions of Iran

Severe range degradation was critically extended in many region of Iran and caused many rangelands were restricted and interwoven with croplands in a complex system. Therefore, rangeland planning and inventory as an isolated activity has become almost impossible. Current landscape planning involves contributions of different social organizations often with different interests and with different...

00554 - 9 - Arid and Semi - Arid Geomorphology

The world’s arid lands are some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth, and their paucity of vegetation often makes it possible to see landforms and structures with great clarity (Figure 1.1). In addition, they have many characteristics both in terms of landforms and geomorphological processes that render them different from other major environments (see, for example, Laity, 2008; Parsons an...

Simulation of the catchments hydrological processes in arid, semi-arid and semi-humid areas

Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...
